Loreen Yerger Kollar, CMP, Coordinator for International Conferences, Workshops and Meetings
Ms. Kollar is the Coordinator for International Conferences, Workshops and Meetings for the Institute for International Cooperative Environmental Research (IICER) and the Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research (CBTR) at the Florida State University. Ms. Kollar received her B.S. in Geography and Minor in Geology from the University of South Alabama in 1985. Ms. Kollar received the designation of Certified Meeting Professional in 1998. Ms. Kollar has a diverse professional background with over 12 years of experience in the Meeting/Hospitality Management and Travel industry. Ms. Kollar's responsibilities at the IICER and the CBTR include: database development; coordination of all details of conference and meeting planning including site selection, hotel contract negotiation, program development, peer review abstract and manuscript management and proceedings publication, registration, and on-site management. Ms. Kollar is responsible for the organization and execution of conferences and meetings conducted through the IICER including the International Containment Technology Conference and Exhibition, and the Second International Symposium on Nitroaromatic Compounds and Explosives. She also has been the symposium coordinator for the International Symposium Series on Environmental Contamination in Central and Eastern Europe since its inception. Ms. Kollar organizes conferences and workshops for the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Air Force, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and DuPont. Prior to working at the Florida State University, Ms. Kollar worked in the private sector for a large travel agency as a travel specialist for both domestic and foreign corporate travel.

In addition to her responsibilities at the IICER and the CBTR, Ms. Kollar has continued educational training in the art and science of Meeting/Hospitality Management and has attended numerous conferences and training seminars in the industry. Ms. Kollar is an active member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP). She was a board director for the Florida Capital Chapter of SGMP for 2002-2003 and served as First Vice President for 2003-2004. She was recipient of the 'Meeting Planner of the Year' award for 2002-2003 by the Florida Capital Chapter.

The activities and experience gained by Ms. Kollar as a conference coordinator and travel specialist have been extremely valuable to the many activities conducted in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, the U.S. Air Force and other participating agencies and private sector organizations. Ms. Kollar brings to the Florida State University, significant meeting management and organizational skills that greatly complement and add to the existing multi-disciplinary, technical and scientific capabilities of the IICER at the Florida State University.
